PORTLAND, Ore. — The San Antonio Spurs pushed their winning streak to eight games Saturday night, routing the Portland Trail Blazers 125-103 in Portland, Ore.

Victor Wembanyama did his damage in three quarters, finishing with 29 points and seven rebounds before watching the fourth from the bench. San Antonio never trailed and built a lead as large as 35 points.

The game turned in the third quarter. Up 64-49 at the half, the Spurs poured in 45 points in the period while hitting 18 of 27 shots, and they carried a 109-76 cushion into the final 12 minutes. Every Spurs starter sat the entire fourth quarter.

San Antonio got balanced scoring behind its star. Devin Vassell had 15 points, Stephon Castle added 14 with seven rebounds and five assists, and Julian Champagnie came off the bench for 14 with four made threes. Dylan Harper chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds, and Keldon Johnson had 10.

The Spurs owned the glass 51-38 and made 28 of their 30 free throws, including 20 of 21 before halftime. Portland shot 41.7% overall and hit only 9 of its 35 tries from deep.

Deni Avdija led the Blazers with 15 points and Scoot Henderson scored 13. Portland has now lost two straight. Jrue Holiday and Chris Youngblood each scored 11 off the Blazers bench.

The Portland win came right after Wembanyama poured in 52 points in San Antonio’s previous game, in a one-point victory, 112-111, over the Dallas Mavericks. San Antonio is coming off a 62-20 season in 2025-26, and the hot start has the club stacking wins early again this fall.
