San Antonio Weather Forecast: A Cool and Pleasant Tuesday Ahead

Hey there, folks! If you’ve been enjoying the warmer weather lately, this week in San Antonio is set to mix things up a bit. Although the weather is generally forecasted to bring us plenty of sunshine, Tuesday is going to be a cooler day compared to the rest of the week. It looks like we’re about to experience the coolest temps we’ve seen all week, and it’s happening right on time—just as spring is really getting underway. Sounds like a welcome change!

What to Expect on Tuesday

For those early risers, you’ll start your day with morning lows hovering in the upper 50s to lower 60s. As you sip your morning coffee, you might notice some low dew point temperatures that promise some dry air, making your Tuesday feel quite refreshing. As the day rolls on, you can expect peak temperatures to reach the lower to mid-80s, which is still a treat for this time of year!

Even though a thick layer of clouds will accompany the incoming cold front, the chances of encountering any actual rain are minimal. Sure, some of the forecast models have hinted at a slight chance of rain in parts of the Hill Country, but don’t get your hopes too high! Many times, dry air can cause precipitation to evaporate before it even hits the ground; this phenomenon is often referred to as virga. So it’s safe to say you may not need to grab that umbrella just yet.

Rest of the Week: Warmer Days Ahead

As we move into Wednesday, get ready for some shifts in the weather. High atmospheric pressure will roll in, leading to southeastern winds that will bring warmer air and moisture back into the mix. Once the morning clouds clear out, you can expect to bask in some glorious sunshine in the afternoons. Temperatures are projected to climb back up to the mid-80s, and by Thursday and Friday, we could see them soaring right back into the 90s. Talk about a heatwave!

What the Future Holds: Rain for Easter?

Easter Sunday. Predictions suggest that we may be looking at a wetter-than-normal pattern that extends from this coming Saturday all the way through April 23. Now that’s something to keep an eye on!

The Wildflower Situation

wildflower season in Texas. However, those beautiful bluebonnets are noticeably scarce this year. Unfortunately, last fall’s rainfall during their critical germination window fell way short of expectations, with San Antonio only receiving about 1.81 inches—that’s nearly 4 inches below the climate norm! This lack of moisture during October and November has really taken a toll on this iconic flower.
