San Antonio is set to come alive with festivities as it celebrates Pride Week 2025, beginning with the official kickoff on June 26 and culminating in a lively Pride festival on June 29. This year’s theme is “CommUNITY,” emphasizing inclusivity and the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The festivities will commence with a special evening hosted by San Antonio Magazine on June 26, celebrating the release of the “Mi Casa” issue, dedicated to home and design. This sparkling event will be held at The Parker on E. Mulberry from 6:30 to 9 p.m., featuring Tiki-style drinks and light tropical bites, all within a vibrant setting crafted by HGTV host Kim Wolfe.
Later that evening, adults can take part in an edition of Cocktails & Culture from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Witte Museum where drinks will be complimentary, as well as featuring live performances by Rey Lopez Entertainment and music from a Vegas DJ.
Every Thursday night in June and July, Civic Park will transform into an open-air dance floor for the SoundCream Sunset Sessions, offering free dance parties. On June 26, Jake Gatewood will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
The following days are packed with entertainment, including the return of the Fiesta Noche del Rio on June 27-28. This famous event at the River Walk will showcase live music and dance on Friday and Saturday nights until August 3, starting at 8:30 p.m. Additionally, Jon Anderson, the legendary vocalist from the band Yes, will take the stage at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on June 27 at 7:30 p.m., featuring both classic hits and new songs.
On June 28, visitors can enjoy Fredericksburg’s seasonal festival, showcasing local vendors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Shops at La Cantera’s Main Street. The same day, the Woodlawn Theater will host two performances by a renowned comedian, scheduled for 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The highlight of Pride Week will be the major Pride festival, taking place on June 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crockett Park. The festival will include a variety of vendors, a health fair, a Pride wedding, wrestling matches, and culminate with a parade at 9 p.m.
The foundation for this year’s celebration was laid with the “Pride Cultural Heritage District Dedication Ceremony,” a ceremonial kickoff featuring performances and speeches. This cultural district, recently approved by the San Antonio City Council on June 4, honors the LGBTQ+ community and spans between Elmira Street and Mistletoe Avenue.
Antonio Gonzalez-Martinez of the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce underlined the importance of creating safe spaces within the new cultural district. The events planned throughout Pride Week are designed not only to celebrate but also to promote awareness and acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community’s contributions within San Antonio.
As the city gears up for these vibrant events, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to partake in the celebrations, fostering a sense of community while honoring diversity and inclusivity.
