FESTIVALS

Fiesta San Antonio

This festival began as a way to commemorate the Battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto, but it has evolved into a celebration of San Antonio’s unique culture. Because there will be a lot of walking, wear your brightest clothes and a comfortable pair of shoes. This event consists of a number of different activities. Women in yellow clothing and caps march in the Battle of Flowers Parade. Enjoy the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, which comprises the lighting up of the downtown area’s streets. Make sure to see the River Walk boat parade as well. Any festival would be incomplete without food, and here you’ll find a wide range of street food and beverages, including fresh fruit cups, margaritas, and a presentation of Texas’ six regional cuisines from various chefs. This festival is a melting pot of Texas cuisine and culture.

Moonlight in the Garden of Good and Evil

This is the event to attend if you enjoy haunted locations and eerie experiences. Prepare for a fantastic night out by dressing up in your best costume. Garden fairies, trolls, superheroes, and villains emerge at night and stroll the San Antonio Botanical Garden, enchanting visitors. At the haunted lake, you can see “spirits” on the loose. Enjoy the live show, creepy music, and innovative games. Inquire about your future with one of the tarot card readers if you’re brave enough. The David Rogers Big Bugs exhibit, which comprises 20-inch (51-cm) bug exhibits, is a sight to behold. Food, beer, and wine are all available for purchase.

Cactus Pear Music Festival

This festival will uplift your spirit with music. Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, the Artistic Director of this event and a renowned violinist, will perform chamber music for several weeks. Local and international artists join her on stage. Listen to some classical and current music and let the excellent harmonies carry you to a wonderful place. You’ll feel revitalized, calm, and uplifted afterward. Music is, as the adage goes, “nourishment for the soul.”

El Dia De Los Muertos

This celebration combines culture, art, and live music to commemorate the Day of the Dead. It’s for families who want to share memories of their loved ones who have passed away. Participating in a drum and puppet procession as well as a parade where you may appreciate bright, sophisticated, and traditional costumes are among the activities available. Live music, dance performances, and poetry readings are all available. Local artists’ work will also be on exhibit for you to purchase. Various booths are selling delectable meals. The open-altar exhibition is the festival’s showpiece. Participate in this incredible cultural event in San Antonio.

Texas Folklife Festival

At this festival, you can learn about and enjoy Texas’ cultural and traditional heritage. It is dedicated to promoting the state’s diverse ethnicities through music, dancing, food, art, and so much more. On six distinct stages, music and entertainment are performed. Enjoy a wide range of scrumptious cuisine, including grills and kebabs. Make sure you buy a souvenir from one of the artists that are proudly showing their magnificent creations to mark the occasion.
