San Antonio – Two relatives of a 16-year-old boy were arrested following a shooting incident associated with a drug deal gone wrong early Monday morning. The shooting occurred on the 400 block of Bluegrass Creek, near Loop 1604 and Potranco, prompting a response from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Deputies arrived at the scene to find the 16-year-old victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Authorities revealed that the victim had arranged to sell THC vapes to the suspects, who instead attempted to rob him and shot him in the process of the crime.

In a subsequent search of the victim’s home, BCSO officials seized an estimated $150,000 worth of marijuana, THC vape products, and several firearms. The operation led to the arrests of 18-year-old Dakota Henry and 42-year-old Elliot Henry, who are both relatives of the victim. Elliot Henry is identified as the biological father of both the suspects and the shooting victim.

The charges against Dakota and Elliot Henry include manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, tampering with identification numbers, and possession of marijuana. Sheriff Javier Salazar emphasized the troubling nature of the incident, noting that Elliot Henry’s actions allowed his child to engage in a dangerous lifestyle that culminated in the shooting.

This incident is part of a growing trend involving drug-related shootings, with authorities highlighting cases where young victims are involved, often over minor items such as marijuana and THC vapes. The implications of these incidents have raised concerns among law enforcement and community leaders alike.

In addition to the arrests, Child Protective Services has become involved in the ongoing investigation. As inquiries continue, the possibility of charges against the 16-year-old shooting victim has not yet been confirmed.

Bexar County investigators are currently searching for a dark blue or teal-colored vehicle observed in surveillance footage connected to the shooting. BCSO is actively asking the public for assistance, encouraging anyone with pertinent information about the case to reach out through provided contact details for Crime Stoppers and BCSO.

These recent developments underline the escalating dangers of illegal drug activities and their consequences, particularly for younger individuals involved in such transactions. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are focusing on understanding the circumstances surrounding the shooting and preventing future incidents of a similar nature.
