Larry Coker was appointed as UTSA’s first head football coach in 2009, tasked with building the program from the ground up. Prior to joining UTSA, Coker led the University of Miami to a national championship in 2001. Under his leadership, UTSA set an NCAA modern startup program record with 56,743 fans attending the inaugural game in 2011. Coker retired in 2016 after compiling 26 wins over five seasons.

James Feigen is a distinguished swimmer who achieved national recognition during his time at Winston Churchill High School and the University of Texas at Austin. He secured multiple state titles and set national records in high school. At UT Austin, Feigen earned 18 Big 12 Conference gold medals and was a member of the USA National team from 2009 to 2016, winning Olympic medals in both the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Games.

Frank Harris served as UTSA’s quarterback from 2017 to 2023, leading the team to back-to-back Conference USA Championships in 2021 and 2022. Harris also rushed for 2,145 yards and 28 touchdowns during his tenure.

Tameka Roberts-Nuñez excelled in track & field at UTSA, earning eight All-American honors and capturing 17 conference titles. She still holds Southland Conference records in the 55-, 100-, and 200-meter events and ranks second all-time in the long jump. Roberts-Nuñez continues to hold UTSA school records in the 100-meter, indoor and outdoor 200-meter, and long jump events.

The 1971 Robert E.
